Overview

Digital services in a prison or secure hospital are only as safe as the platform they run on. A general-purpose operating system carries risks a secure environment cannot accept: unauthorised access, misuse and routes to the open internet that undermine security, safeguarding and public confidence.

MPoS, the Made Purple Operating System, is a locked-down operating system and kiosk platform purpose built for custodial, healthcare and other controlled settings. Deployed as a full secure operating system on dedicated devices or as a secure kiosk layer on buyer-managed Windows, Linux or macOS estates, it enforces single-app or multi-app kiosk modes, application allow-listing and policy-based access control so users only ever reach approved applications, secure browsing and digital services. Everything is managed centrally through a UK-hosted cloud portal with role-based administrative access, full audit logging and API integration with existing enterprise tooling, third-party MDMs and identity systems.

The result is safe digital access at scale. Establishments can deliver communication, education, wellbeing, information and transactional services on shared or personal devices, supporting digital inclusion without exposing anyone to the open internet. MPoS scales from small pilots to large multi-site estates and supports compliance with security, safeguarding and governance requirements throughout.
