Overview
Digital access to communication, education and entertainment has clear therapeutic value in secure mental health settings, but every service has to be clinically appropriate, individually controlled and secure enough for the setting. Standard consumer technology cannot meet that bar and few suppliers operate at this level of security.
The Secure Patient Digital Platform is Made Purple's offering for the NHS: a fully managed digital environment for forensic and secure mental health services. Built on MPoS, our secure operating system for patient devices, and bundled with Purple MDM device management, Purple Possessions property management and controlled internet access with pre-assessed website content, the platform is configured to each hospital's clinical and security policies and managed centrally from UK-hosted infrastructure.
The platform supports compliance with the High Security Psychiatric Services Directions 2019 and CQC requirements, and is in live use at Rampton Hospital and The State Hospital. In 2026 Made Purple won the contract to supply the NHS high secure digital patient technology solution for Nottinghamshire Healthcare, whose Rampton Hospital is one of the high secure hospitals in England, and at The State Hospital a successful pilot led to full delivery in 2026, including the most secure online shopping service in any secure setting.
